15 Oct A Message from the Low Stress SOJC Choir Director, Becky Silverstein
It is the start of a new choir season, so this IS the perfect time to join. I have been asked why Low Stress? It means low stress for ME as the director and for YOU as the participant. There are only NINETEEN rehearsals for the entire year, so this is not a huge commitment of your time. The only person who makes every rehearsal is ME because I make the schedule around my personal life. I know you ALL have personal lives: family, hobbies, work, and travel. I know we all make choices about how to spend our precious free time. Please consider making the SOJC Choir one of your choices.
My goal for the choir is that we have fun, enhance the spirituality of our services with our performances, make the presence of SOJC known in the wider Orlando Jewish community, create bonds of friendship among the choir members as a Chavurah, and have fun. I might have said HAVE FUN TWICE!
If you like to sing Hanukkah songs, if you’d like to learn a Tu B’Shevat Song, if you would like to celebrate Israeli Independence Day in song, this is a great time to join the choir. Now we are back to Wednesday rehearsals. We meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m., and I provide all materials at no charge to you. You don’t need to read music. You don’t need to read or speak Hebrew. You just need to want to join a great group and have some fun while participating in a great Jewish experience. I hope to meet some more new members at the next rehearsal! Here are the dates of our rehearsals for the rest of the year. New members are always welcome.
