Join the Choir – Have Some Fun – Get Involved

SOJC has a choir! Anyone is welcome to join at any time: pre-teens, teens, college students, adults, ANYONE. You do NOT need to be able to read music or read Hebrew to join. We make it fun and easy for everyone. All materials are provided to you at no charge, including printed music and audio files in emails to help you learn.

In the past, we have sung at all of the High Holiday services for the last five years. We have also performed at a Tisha B’Av service, Shabbat Nachamu, Shabbat Hanukkah, several other Shabbat Services, at the Cantor’s “Bar Mitzvah” party, and at the community-wide Yom Ha’Atzmaut Service at the Roth JCC in Maitland for two years as well as last year at the first Israel Independence Day Celebration at the Rosen JCC. We sing a variety of songs from the liturgy to folk songs and rounds to three part harmonies. We continue to grow as a group and as musicians and friends.

We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., but we do not meet every week. The schedule for rehearsals for the 2016-17 year runs from this High Holiday season right up until next year’s High Holidays. If you like to sing, please consider joining us.

Contact the choir director, Becky Silverstein at office@sojc.org or call the office at 407-239-5444 if you have any questions, or just come to the first rehearsal that works for you.
