Baby Namings

The birth of a child is one of life's holiest moments - a celebration not only for a family, but for the entire Jewish community.

At SOJC, we are honored to help families welcome a new soul into Jewish life with warmth, meaning, and joy.

For baby boys, families may choose to celebrate a Brit Milah (Bris), the sacred cobenant traditionally held on the eighth day when medically possible. Rabbi Shai and the SOJC community are happy to help guide families through this meaningful experience, including connecting you with a Mohel if desired.

For baby girls, many families choose to celebrate a Baby Naming during a Shabbat service, where the child receives her Hebrew name surrounded by prayer, blessing, singing, and community.

Whether traditional, creative, intimate, or communal, we work closely with each family to create a celebration that feels personal, spiritual, and filled with love.

We would be honored to celebrate this sacred moment with your family.
